Pizzerija Purger
Purger has run at the same Trešnjevka address, with the same Swedish wood-fired oven and the same interior, since 1979, and Croatian food writers call it Zagreb's oldest still-operating pizzeria and the last surviving example of the city's pre-1990s pizzerias. It introduced the country's first bacon-and-sour-cream 'Slavonian pizza' when that combination was still unheard of in the former Yugoslavia, and the same baker, Darko Zakora, has worked its oven for more than thirty years alongside the founding family's son Toni, who now shapes the dough. It takes cash only and offers no delivery, by deliberate choice rather than neglect.
