Cantina Castelões

Founded in 1924 in the Brás neighbourhood, Castelões is documented by the city of São Paulo's own Department of Historic Heritage as the oldest continuously operating pizzeria in the city, at the same address since its founding. Its long-fermented, thick-crust pizza — most famously the house 'Castelões' pizza of mussarela, calabresa and tomato sauce — is described in the press as a paulistano classic imitated by many other pizzerias, still baked in the original wood-fired hearth and run by the third generation of the founding Donato family.
